2006 Murder Mystery Evening & End-of-Year Dinner

Five years ago, Barry Underwood, owner of the prestigious Underwood Wine Estates (Napa Valley, California), mysteriously disappeared during the valley's annual wine festival. A massive search at the time failed to turn up any clues and the case has been in the FBI's unsolved files since then.

Twenty-four Cellar Rats met over dinner with the main suspects to see if we could solve this mystery.

Laura arrived (with Veuve in tow) and announced that she’s passed her exams and is now an Actuary – shot Laura! We all had a BRILLIANT evening ... many a time one couldn’t hear what the other folk at your table were saying because of the laughter and shouting at the other tables!. Thanks again James (Keith Bowen) for MCing the whole thing and to Alexandra for the GREAT IDEA and to her and Sophia for all the typing up, printing and planning.

Claire cooked an awesome meal. Thanks Claire !!! We started with a prawn topped avo, aubergine and tomato tower on a layer of sweet chilli sauce followed by lamb or Kingklip, a DEVINE, dense chocolate mouse ;-) was next with cheese platters (a choice of 5 cheeses and figs) to end the eating. Some crazy person (thanks Mark "Papa Vito" Hansen!) brought out a bottle of Grappa – some enjoyed Espresso and Grappa while others danced the night away.

The first folk went off to relieve their babysitter at a quarter past one! The die-hards crawled to bed after 4:30

Thanks to Geoff for organising the wines and thanks to Ian for setting the tables and having an extra 10 bottles of bubbly on hand to supplement supplies ;-)

Here’s to 2007!!
